Manager, Corporate Communications and Marketing

Conservation International's seeks a mid-level professional to join the communications and marketing team for our corporate partnerships division.  Under the direction of the Corporate Communications Director, this position focuses on engaging corporate partners to support CI’s institutional strategy of strengthening the organization's brand awareness around the world and socializing the importance of our mission among consumers and employees through high profile communications and marketing efforts including CI's Team Earth initiative.

Position will support supervisor and account leads to execute high profile, consumer facing marketing and communications campaigns/programs/projects with CI’s corporate partners, and develop presentations and proposals for new partners.  Position will interface with multiple divisions within CI as well as with corporate and NGO partners to ensure successful project implementation from strategy to creative development to daily management requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

CORPORATE ENGAGEMENT:

Support the Director of Corporate Communications and the Strategic Marketing + Global Communications division in the design and implementation of 3-5 high profile marketing campaigns with Fortune 500 companies.  Campaigns will focus on supporting Team Earth objectives, with a secondary focus on engaging companies to support CI specific goals.

PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT:

Support the Director of Corporate Communications, CELB Account Leads and the Strategic Marketing + Global Communications division in the development of presentations and proposals focusing on communications and marketing campaigns for new and existing partners.

MARKETING CAMPAIGNING:

Lead 1-2 marketing campaigns with "smaller" corporate partners designed and implemented to support CI’s institutional goals around raising the conservation ethic. 

WRITING:

Support the writing and editing of corporate related content to appear across multiple platforms including on-product collateral, print and broadcast advertisement copy, press releases, online feature stories, case studies, partner fast facts.

MESSAGING DISTRIBUTION:

Monitor, gather, and disseminate relevant consumer polling data and research as it relates to environmental issues and brand trust.

Working Conditions:

The position will interact daily with the staff of CI's Center for Environmental Leadership in Business, while sharing office space with global communications staff to ensure that we are maximizing communications channels and sharing information.  Some domestic and international travel will be required to meet with corporate partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills:

  • B.A. Marketing; 3-5 years of PR Agency experience in an Account or Project Management role
  • Proven experience working on consumer facing communications campaigns for print, broadcast, online, and on-product platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate as part of a small team.
  • Must be able to balance numerous projects at one time and with autonomy. Also exudes a "roll up your sleeves" attitude and a willingness to perform his/her own administrative support tasks. 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
  • Candidate must be have basic knowledge of today's environmental issues.
Preferred Skills:

  •  Knowledge of "corporate social responsibilitiy" (CSR) issues, fundraising tactics, and cause marketing programs. 
  • Ability to speak Spanish, French, or Portuguese ideal but not required.
