CEMEX

Our partnership with CEMEX is focused on supporting biodiversity conservation efforts and raising awareness about conservation issues.

October 2008: CEMEX published the CI book, A Climate for Life, which launched at the World Conservation Congress in Barcelona.  CELB's Michael Totten and CI President Russell Mittermeier co-authored chapters on energy solutions and on climate tipping points.

CEMEX supports CI's work in the Gulf of California, allowing the continuation of efforts to preserve one of the most unique and biodiverse marine ecosystems in the world.

CEMEX has joined CI to communicate information about biodiversity conservation, reaching multiple audiences, by publishing a series of books including: Hotspots, Megadiversity, Wilderness, Wildlife Spectacles, Hotspots Revisited, and Transboundary Conservation.

CI Serves on the advisory board of CEMEX's conservation model, El Carmen project. Located in Mexico, it is aimed at creating a long-term preservation plan for ecosystems, species and biological corridors. El Carmen is part of the largest and most biodiverse conservation area in the world that spans an international border.
