The Brazilian Pantanal is one of the most remarkable wetland areas in the world. In the mid-1990's, the governments of the five countries of the La Plata Basin - Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, and Uruguay wanted to implement a waterway, the Hydrovia, to expand large scale navigation on the Paraguay and Paraná rivers and promote the integration of the region. It was an ambitious project with potentially irreversible effects on the Pantanal.

This documentary is a concert of Pantanal voices, woven with poetry and striking images of the biological riches in the region. Politicians, scientists, businessmen, farmers, and visitors share their ideas and invite the public to reflect about the best development alternatives for the Pantanal.
