2008 Portland Reception
Global environmental issues are not confined by region any longer. Crises halfway around the world are already impacting our consumer choices, our air and water quality, and our food supply. There are no easy solutions, but CI is committed to balancing economic growth with a concern for human welfare and the sustainable use of Earth’s natural resources.
The first ever Portland Reception raised more than $110,000 for CI programs and activities, a record for any first-time reception in a community new to our work. CI realizes that the evening’s success simply would not have been possible without the amazing breadth and depth of support. We want to thank all those who gave so generously of their time and resources to ensure such a warm welcome for CI.
