Pasha Majdi
Vice President, US Government Policy & Strategy
Pasha leads Conservation International’s engagement with the U.S. government. He works to influence U.S. policy toward international conservation — including congressional legislation, federal agency implementation and priorities, and federal appropriations. He advises Conservation International on U.S. government strategy, communications and external stakeholder relationships. Pasha collaborates with Conservation International’s scientists and subject matter experts to recommend and draft policy based on cutting-edge science. He collaborates across organizations in Washington to build coalitions to support international conservation. Pasha works to conserve nature and ensure that the benefits nature provides to humanity are valued in U.S. policy.
Pasha is a former professional staff member for the United States Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. He is a former three-term local elected official and an experienced political campaign strategist. Pasha is currently an advisory board member for the American Conservation Coalition and the Rainey Center for Public Policy, and a former board member of OneVirginia2021 and FairMapsVA — nonpartisan organizations that successfully advocated for redistricting reform in Virginia. He holds degrees from George Mason Law School and Duke University, where he served as president of the student body.
Pasha lives in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia with his wife and three children. He enjoys hiking trails and viewing wildlife on federally conserved land.
