2024 IMPACT REPORT
Your generosity in action
The following stories reflect the impact of your investment in Conservation International’s groundbreaking science and community-led partnerships. They highlight the people — the scientists, the local leaders, the changemakers — behind our unfaltering work to chart humanity’s next chapter. We are honored to have you by our side as we work together to conserve the world’s biological diversity and stabilize the climate.
Your impact
Here’s what you helped make possible:
Conservation International is working with partners to secure the livelihoods of the 40 million people who rely on Poyang Lake, China’s largest freshwater lake and a vital water source to surrounding cities including Shanghai.
Stabilize our climate
With support from Conservation International, a local community in Bolivia protected 453,000 hectares (1.1 million acres) — an area the size of Rhode Island — of critical carbon-storing forests.
Double ocean protection
Conservation International worked to expand women’s roles and rights in seafood value chains. Research shows that when women have more environmental decision-making power, it leads to more sustainable fishing practices.
Expand nature-positive economies
A collaborative effort between Conservation International and business and government partners continued to protect China’s largest freshwater lake — and the stunning wildlife and 40 million people it supports.
Reimagine conservation
Conservation International partnered with Indigenous people to release a new set of guidelines that detail best practices for the fashion industry to integrate Indigenous knowledge and respect Indigenous cultural and artistic traditions.

Thank you for your commitment to nature, people and our shared future.
Your flexible support matters
Thank you for supporting Conservation International. Every gift makes a difference to nature and people.
With flexible funding — and the vision, passion and trust of our donors and partners — we can:

We ask difficult questions and challenge the status quo, charting a new path for conservation. Your support allows us the flexibility to test new ideas and bring them to scale.
Act boldly
When crises arise, flexible funding allows us to react rapidly to reach the places that urgently need support.
Unlock public support
Generous donors make our work possible and enable us to leverage public and corporate funding to amplify the impact of each flexible philanthropic gift we receive.
Engage talent
We can attract expertise in natural and social sciences, policy, finance and business. Putting the best minds at work to improve people’s lives through the care and protection of nature ensures that every gift has a lasting impact.
Lead the science
Flexible funding enables us to adjust our approach when new science tells us we need to change course.
