Blue Carbon Research Internship Program

The Blue Carbon Research Internship Program seeks passionate individuals to work alongside the IBCI team and colleagues from Asia-Pacific and global teams and play a pivotal role advancing our applied blue carbon research initiatives and programs. The specific area of work for the individual intern will depend on the IBCI’s current and planned project portfolio and alignment with the candidate’s skills and interests.

The Blue Carbon Research Intern position is open to undergraduate or Master’s level students in Singapore universities reading Biological and/or Life Sciences, Environmental Studies, Ecology, Earth Systems Science, Spatial Analysis, Geography or related fields.

Visit Internships @ Conservation International to view current internship opportunities and to apply.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.

IBCI Fellowship Program

The program provides fellowships to outstanding experts and professionals working across diverse disciplines in blue carbon who demonstrate a commitment to research and/or application of natural and social sciences and are committed to the protection, conservation, and restoration of blue carbon ecosystems. In 2024, the IBCI Fellowship Program will select one fellow for a two-year program. In future years, the number of fellows selected annually may increase.

Each fellow will receive a grant of USD 60,000 to support either new programs and projects or existing research endeavors. Supported activities may include supplementing current research projects, travel for laboratory studies, purchase of equipment, and other additional research costs (e.g., publication fees, field assistants).

The call for applications for the Blue Carbon Fellowship Program is now closed.  Learn how you can apply for the next cycle here.
